Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars Inactive and Injury Reports for Saturday Night Football

  • In the Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars inactive and injury reports, Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) won’t play as he’s on IR
  • Derrick Henry (hip) will compete for Tennessee, but they have five listed as questionable
  • The Jaguars have seven players questionable, including quarterback Trevor Lawrence, according to the Titans vs Jaguars injury report

With a crucial matchup for the AFC South crown upon us, both the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars have several players questionable to suit up. The winner of this contest takes the division, and if the Jags lose, they’ll need help to still secure a wild card spot in the postseason.

Just one player has been ruled out for this game, and that’s reserve cornerback Davontae Harris for the Titans. The final inactive list won’t come out until 90 minutes before kickoff, but several players have the questionable tag. The Titans have five of them, while the Jags have seven.

Jaguars Favored Over Titans

The Jaguars have shocked the NFL world following their 2-6 start to the campaign. They’ve rebounded to win six of eight, which includes a 36-22 victory in Tennessee in Week 14. The Titans have been in a free-fall, dropping six straight to limp to 7-9. Jacksonville is set as 6.5 home favorites over Tennessee in the Titans vs Jaguars picks.

Kickoff at TIAA Bank Field is set for 8:15 pm ET on Saturday, January 7th. The weather forecast is calling for it to be clear with minimal wind and temperatures in the low 50’s. ESPN is carrying the broadcast. As of Saturday afternoon, the Jags were getting 77 percent of bets placed on them on the moneyline in the Titans vs Jaguars betting splits.

Tennessee Titans Injury Report

The Titans won’t have starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, as he’s been placed on IR, so they’ll turn to Joshua Dobbs at quarterback for the second straight week. Backup CB Davontae Harris won’t suit up for this one (hamstring). Five players are listed as questionable for this pivotal matchup, with DB Amani Hooker and WR Treylon Burks not practicing. The latter suffered a groin injury in practice earlier in the week.

Three others that are questionable had limited participation in practice, including offensive linemen Nicholas Petit-Frere, CB Kristian Fulton and LB Dylan Cole.

Tennessee does get running back Derrick Henry back, which is a massive boon to the offense to carry the load and help out Dobbs in the backfield. DT Jeffery Simmons, like Henry, is also returning after missing their last contest. He has 7.5 sacks on the campaign, with Denico Autry and his eight sacks also coming back after missing last week.

Jacksonville Jaguars Injury Report

Seven Jaguars are listed as questionable, with the most notable of course being quarterback Trevor Lawrence (toe). There isn’t any worry he’ll miss this pivotal matchup, however. All of the Jags players were limited in practice, including 2022 first overall pick Travon Walker and safety Rayshawn Jenkins.

The good news for the Jaguars is that all seven of their team listed as questionable are expected to suit up for this one. The others are Andrew Wingard, Brandon Scherff, Folorunso Fatukasi and Ross Matiscik.

How Injuries Could Affect Titans vs Jaguars Lines

Derrick Henry is back after missing one game, and he’s found paydirt in three straight contests. He’s fully off the injury report and has to be a major focus in the Titans vs Jaguars player props.

If 2022 first round pick Treylon Burks can’t go, that hinders Joshua Dobbs in just his second game at the helm. Burks’ three best games this season, in terms of receiving yardage, have occurred in his last five affairs. Getting Jeffery Simmons and Denico Autry back is big for the Titans in their efforts to make life rough on Trevor Lawrence. The Jags second-year pivot hasn’t thrown for a TD in two games, though he has one rushing touchdown.
